Seed accounts

Are people thinking seed accounts are going to be gobbled up pretty quick?

I'm hoping that is the case, but if they're still around a while after they go on sale I'm considering getting one. But I think it would be better if people who really want one get first crack. I mainly want one because... well, I like the idea of perm accounts, I have one in LJ and one in IJ. However, this would be the first time I'd get a warm fuzzy feeling from supporting from the start a service I like.

I like the idea of seed accounts, and applaud that they're trying to stay both financially viable AND ad-free... but look what's happened to LJ. When they first had perm account sales, I kicked myself for not leaping for one. Now, I'm awfully glad I didn't.

Perm may have some benefits, but paying annually means you can always walk away.

Yeah, I'm kind of with you on that. I'm willing to support DW, but I don't need a seed account. Which means if they don't sell out, I'll buy one tomorrow. I think. :)

Exactly. What happens during the sale in less than 2 hours will give us and idea of how quickly they'll be going. I'm on the West coast, so tonight before I turn in I'll check out to see if the first 200 accounts are still on sale. I'm very curious to see how it goes.

I know what you mean! I really wish I had not bought the perm account in LJ, but I'm one of those people who tend to jump onto this sort of stuff.

Although with DW it is different for me, because we're at the start and I want this service to succeed . My perm account on LJ I got because of the shinny and nothing to do with wanting to provide them with a short burst of capital.
