I continue to be weirdly focused on one fandom at a time, even as enjoy other series. I'm frustrated that I cannot totally get into the fic of anything but SPN, and it's been like that for 3 years now. There is so much stuff out there that I should be jumping on (GenKill, Chuck, Merlin, Star Trek, Terminator, SGA) but when I go over tags on my delicious network I'm looking for SPN stuff, and when I see rec lists I go to just that one section. If it sounds kind of boring, yeah I know it is. I was hoping that the new Star Trek movie might pull me in with the fic, but nope, nothing close to hitting all my buttons.

I never know exactly when that changes, but it's been in the middle of S5 for SV and SGA, around S6 of XF, so maybe this time it will happen again with SPN.

I'm like that, too; there is more than one show that I am interested in, including older shows which are no longer in production, but right now SPN is my #1 show, and SPN fics are about the only ones I read. Back when I was crazy for X Files I pretty much only read X Files fics; then it was Sg-1, and I wrote a ton of fanfics myself in that fandom as well as reading them; I was also into The Sentinel around that time and would read and write fics in that fandom; that is the only time I recall being able to actively read 2 fandoms at once. Then for a bit it was the sci-fi series of Invisible Man; I read a lot of IM fanfics, ha. Then it was NCIS, only wrote one fic for that show and read quite a few. But right now I've got so many tabs opened with SPN fics and a zillion more bookmarked and added to memories, etc, ha, and I just don't have time or energy for any other fandom fics. I did read a couple of Sg-1 fanfics for old time's sake the other day and even went back and looked up some of my own old fanfics, and some of them were pretty good, ha, and some I cringed that I wrote them, ha. I guess I've got a bad memory cause I couldn't even remember how some of my own stories ended and was reading them as if I'd never seen them before or like someone else wrote them, ha. I'd remember parts of them but not the whole story; sad, I guess, that I can't even remember my own fanfics. But yeah, of all the fandoms I've read fics for, SPN is the one I've read the MOST fics about, followed by Sg-1 fics. And I tried to read a few new ST fics after the new movie came out, but I just couldn't get interested in them and just wanted to go read more wincest or SPN genfics or, gasp, even getting into the J2/rps stuff now, which I refused to read at first. My eyeballs hurt right now from all the Big Bang fics I've got lined up, ha!

Drats! I could have sworn I'd answered your comment! Sorry about that. Anyway, shor version of what I had responded (apparently only iin my head) was that my first fandom was X-Files and I didn't care to read anything else for a long time. I actually stuck to the fandom way beyond the point of where the show got bad. I just didn't even imagine moving on. But yeah, after that it became a pattern of One Fandom to Rule Them All (also just in my head) and read almost exclusively in only one fandom.

I loved IM! I never read a fic that I totally loved, maybe because I got distracted by another fandom. IM was such a tiny fandom when I was into it!

One thing that has changed in all this monofanishness is that through podfics I've gotten back into some favorite stories from previous fandoms. I should actually look for XF fics. That might be a good way to erase the bad taste CC left after the series sort of collapsed towards the end :(

And yeah - so much stuff to read in the BB and so little time!!!
