Spelling

I hate it when people spell out stuff to me, because my brain tries to makes sense of each letter in SPANISH. Why brain, why do you fail me so? Some clients must think I have a hearing problem because I ask them to repeat themselves again and again when they spell their names or emails. The one letter that always gets me is "i", because to my ear it sounds like "ay". The "e" sounding like "i" in Spanish adds an extra layer of confusion.

I hear ya. The German "e" sounds like "ehhhhh" in English, and the German "i" sounds like "e." Takes me a moment to switch (and my immersion in written English don't help much with these sound patterns in my cerebrum).

Extra fun times? Spanish speakers spelling things in English to German me :D! happens a lot at work. So, yeah, I feel you ^^; I always use the NATO alphabet, because frankly, without "I like India?" and "E as in Echo?" I'd be lost!

Acostumbrada al echo, tango, etc. por el trabajo en la agencia de viajes, pero si saca de onda escuchar deletreo en inglés, escuchas fonéticamente en español y se queda uno de O.o
