I suppose all of you who are multifannish know at least to some degree what I am talking about, because essentially, I am talking about being in two fandoms at once. But while most people experience two fandoms as two different things they’re interested in, for me, it is the same thing, in two languages.

The post had several things I recognized from my own fannish experiences of being a Spanish speaker.

Yes!!!

The German fandom is very simmilar a Spanish fandom!

I started reading fanficcion Spanish, many years ago.Entire Spanish fanfiction then was anime based,before the advent of this earthquake was the Harry Potter books.


And I must say that until today,I am amazed at how highly organized community that is in Spanish anime.Has been fun to see the evolution of the appreciation of the yaoi and slash, for example.You can still find old reviews that mentioned the yaoi as a rarity, which had to be supported by principles,Unlike today, which is seen as an unstoppable plague, in many places.There is no aca-fans,which is sad, because I would have much on which to write about the Spanish Fans.

And the obsession is the reviews, but has not been given a nickname to the reader who does not comment.

It seems I have an unusual entry point into fandom, in comparison with most Spanish speakers out there. That's why it took me so long to find any other Spanish speakers, they were all hanging out on the anime side of things!

I would imagine there is a lack of acafans because you really can't make much of a living in a lot of countries writing about fandom. For example in Mexico pop culture is looked down upon a lot more than it is in the US.

I think everyone enjoys reviews as much, but the seeming to be begging/demanding them in LJ based English fandom is considered a no-no. I think it's more acceptable in other spaces.
